The dead have rights too
May 23, 2006

As Az says, how could we possibly have missed the Melbourne Zombie Shuffle?! Less comatose than Melbourne MayDay rallies, and definitely more fun than the always-defunct (always-vacuous) flashmobbing. Too many zombies are not enough. My favourite pic has to be of the zombies with ‘The Dead Have Rights Too’ placard. A flickr set here, but some excellent photos here, including of the zombie wedding parties, also here.
That’s excellent. My special someone and me just watched Shaun Of The Dead last night, funny timing. A friend of a friend organized this up our way - http://www.zombiepubcrawl.com/
I wasn’t able to attend, unfortunately, but I heard it included one of the best chants I’ve heard in a while:
“What do we want?”
“Brains!”
“When do we want it?”
“Braaainnnns!”

I reckon if we could combine some of the swish of EuroMayDay with the vulgate joy of a zombie shuffle, it would be perfect.

That’s very, very funny. The only thing is, every rally is a zombie shuffle with the Socialist Lobotomy Organization in charge. Viva cauterization!
What this age needs is a new superhero: Slumberman, whose super-power consists in the fact that he is alseep.
